Hello all,

I'm looking for some input on what gauges you feel are important to monitor our cars functions with. My car is pretty serious and I want to make sure I monitor the essentials, but not go overboard. Listed below is what I am using and what I am thinking about:

Now:
5" monster tach
2 5/8" oil pressure
2 5/8" water temp
2 5/8" EGT gauge

Thinking about:
2 5/8" fuel pressure (inside)
2 5/8" vacuum
2 5/8" trans temp

Any input, as well as mounting ideas in a 70 Chevelle with the stock style SS dash are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

I don't see much reason for a vacuum gauge in a 10 sec. N/A car but maybe you have a particular necessity for it.

Actually, the car will have a vacuum pump so I was looking at using it for that reason..............

Thanks,

OK. :)

I like everything else you mentioned especially the trans. temp. May want to think about something to monitor the electricals, like a voltmeter.

I am using Autometer pro comp stuff, tach, volt meter, oil pressure, water temp, trans temp, and vac guage. Need to score an inside fuel pressure guage and thinking about a Innovate wide band O2. It's capable of downloading real time AF AND mapping fuel pressure.........it will plug into my HP pocket computer and capture AF and pressure in graph form, cool!
