Hey guys!! I have a 70 Malibu that came with plastic inners. Before asking you guys I bought plastic aftermarket ones, well I just got them and I'm not happy at all. The question I have is before I buy steel ones from goodmark, can they be installed with the fenders on. Cause I had to bend the plastic ones and even scratched them a little putting them in there!! So before I ruin the metal ones I just wanted to ask the pros!!! I'm a rookie and dont want to take the fenders off!! Thanks again!!

I put new ones on my '69 (metal) and they just "roll" right in. Don't have to unbolt anything. Just remove the wheel/tire assy and all the bolts for the inner, drop the rear a little and roll them out. Installation is the reverse. On the pass side you have to deal with the battery and holder and if A/C, the heater valve but otherwise its easy. I think a '70 has a different heater config so the valve is not an issue.

I put a set on my 69 by my self, if you have
someone to help you place the new ones in &
start a few screws it will be a snap. I also
got mine from Goodmark & they look great.
