I replaced my lower door buchings etc with a repair I have had for a few years. I installed them and noticed that the new pin for the lower had threads but was the same size as the hole? I ended up glueing it in with a locktite used to glew in bearings on commercial airlines. It should hold but I wondered how they were intended to go in? Anyone have any luck with after market door repair kits.

Are you talking about the detent pin. On the rebuild kits the detent pin is held in by a washer and screw. I tack welded mine together. Good cheap fix. No more door sag.

it is the part the goes into the jam and it has a pivot on it. It actually pivots or spins with the door. It is part of the door and spring assembly. You have to move the little piece of steel the one that is in one end of the spring and rolls on the ping part that I glued in.
