I've checked the Assembly Manual, Chassis Service Manual, and scrutinized the wiring diagrams and cannot figure this out. It's mounted on the firewall of my '70 El Camino just to the right of the wiper motor. There were 2 large (appr. 10 gauge) wires attached to the lug on front - green 1 was hot, red 1 wasn't (I haven't stripped all the wiring wrap yet to trace them). On the bottom are 2 spade connectors and a small gauge dark green wire with factory-looking terminal was plugged into one of them - nothing on the other. I removed it and capped off the hot wire and everything on the car seems to work, except my A/C blower which wasn't working before I removed this. Any ideas?
(Sorry for the crappy quality pic - the lug on the front is threaded)

Thanks!

***Sorry - I can't get the picture to work - I'll try again later***

That looks like a horn relay for a 72 Chevelle. On a 72 it mounts near the brake booster. Someone put up a picture of a mounted one about 3 weeks ago and Dean put an arrow next to it.

MANY THANKS, Dean, for fixing the picture.

I got my answer in the Chevelle Tech 2005 forum - a horn relay from a '72.

When I sell the car on ebay I can say it has a RARE, future-year electrical upgrade! :p

Thanks for the reply, John. Apparently, you hit the submit button just before I did on my last message.
