I just swapped a set of 3.70 gears for a 4.11 set up. I have a T400 trans. I was looking to make the car a little more strip than street. Your overdrive trans will be to your advantage for use on the street with either 3.70 or 4.11 gearing. What is the intended use of the car? If it's gonna spend more time on the street I would go with the 3.70 gear set for sure. The 26" tall tire could be swapped for a taller tire to fine tune / adjust final set up with your gear choice. For a street/strip ride think about a 3.70 gear and a 28'' tall tire. As far as brand of gears, if I was going with a Strange rear end I would keep it all Strange. My ride rarely sees the interstate, and then only for about a 20 mile run. I run around 3000 rpm and EVERYONE blows by me on the highway. I can say as to putting power down on the street........any more gear than a 3.70 is kind of a moot point, cause if your making any kind of power you will just go up in smoke. On the up side, there is much value in burnouts from a 35 mph roll along side some hooples throwing revs at you!:)

Be careful with the 700R4, that really makes a difference in your gear choice because of the deep 3.06:1 first gear. It's real easy to give it too much gear, and if you're making alot of torque, you'll have a hard time getting it to hook. All in my opinion, of course.

For example, a 3.55 gear with a 700R4 has the same first gear ratio as a 4.30 with a TH350. With 3.73s, that's like a 4.53 gear with a TH350.

With 3.73s or 4.11's, you have a real possibility of shifting before you hit the 60' mark.

Thanks for the help, by locking up the convertor should eliminate the shifting in 1st gear before the 60'. I will be going with the Strange 12 Bolt, Strange 3:73 Gears and rear disc brakes 12" rotor.
