Hey mike, i saw your post about the Track 1's running out of steam at around 6500 rpms. I though with the 221cc chambers that they would out do that. Do you think a stock set of Brodix RR 200's would keep pulling past 6500? or would it be "depends on the motor" question??
Thanks Mike and anyone else that responds....

Hi Ed,
It is dependent on the size of the engine & to some extent the design & type of the cam.
Same head with a good roller of the same approximate advertised or .050 specs will normally go another few hundred RPM before running out of port.
This was 400 inches on alcohol with a flat tappet cam.
Alcohol normally tends to like a little bigger port than gas as you have twice as much fuel takin up space.
A 388 with the 227cc full CNC heads made peak at 7000 with a cam that was real close to the one in the 400.
Either engine will go further, it just starts fallin off very quick if it runs out of air for whatever reason, port, cam, carb,,, the engine don't care, it just knows it ain't gettin fed :D
Thanks for the post Jeremy :beers:
