I saw a picture of a 65 chevelle with a cowl hood and 2 fiberglass bumpers painted the same as the body. I thought it looked sharp and made the car look kind of stealth. Does anyone else have any questions/coments of pictures of using them?

I've seen one or two like that at the races over the years (I don't go very often). I like it. I also like 'em painted black with all the other shiny trim painted black to match.

On certain cars and certain colors, the monochrome effect of bumpers/grilles painted to match the car look great. Even painting them a different color, like black or silver, can help with the theme. I have a picture of a 70 Chevelle (http://www.dalesplace.com/images/gallery/70/show_5.jpg) that's a blue pearl with a light silver bumper - looks "AWSM" http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

If it's for a mainly show or race car, I would'nt even worry about them getting scuffed or being used as a foot rest.

I have a 65 with a 3" cowl hood and I have the fiberglass bumpers. The hood looks good on the car but the fit is not so great.I used the stock chrome bumpers insted of the glass ones.If you know of anyone that wants to buy the bumpers i will sell them for $150 pluss shipping. They are new in the box.

I think if your going to have glss bumpers they should be painted the same color but i have seen people paint the chrome bumpers the same color too. i personally like the mono look if it is a modified car. but if it is pretty much stock i would keep the chrome look. here is mine. it was my first car and i am having a very hard time with the decision to sell it but i think i am.

pro65, do you have any pictures of the car? I would like to see it. Im not in the boat for the bumpers just yet but in a few months i will look you up

FO_FDYFO, If i do go with the fiberglass it will be the mono look, all vermillion red. Its pretty modified, its a street and strip car. Im starting out with the 350 (im only 15) then i get the 454, so it will hopefully look awsome
