Try this..from the bottom of the seat pull outward
than lift the seat up. Hope it works

Actually, that looks like the back of the seat...there are 2 bolts (1 on each side) that screws into the bottom (close to where the seatbelts are)...remove those bolts, and just lift straight up off the "hooks" the seat rests on.

Hope this helps,

Hope this helps, You make that sound so easy :D
I've struggled for hours to get one of those seats of the hooks, but they will come off eventually.

I know what you mean about the seats, after setting for 30+ years they can get stuck. I had to take a 2x4 as a wedge (stuck under the seat and into trunk area) to convince the coupe seat to come up.Just dont bend the seat frame. BTW Im not sure about the 72, but the 69's had a metal tab down low on each side that folded over to help hold the back of the seat flat, make sure you dont have those tabs. they look like the ones used to hold the wiring down to the floor that runs front to back. From the looks of the pic, you need a lower fender patch.IMO stay away from the um....no name brand patches listed in resto catalogs, go goodmark. BTDT and tossed the no-name patch panel in the trash. What worries me more about the door is not what I see, but what I dont see. I suspect over the years the drain holes on the door clogged up and I suspect the inside is worse. you have 2 options here, #1 is to remove the door skin (not easy) and remove ALL rust inside and outside, then weld patches inplace of the missing metal. Replace the door skin or put the old one back on, rust free of course. #2- the easiest- find a rust free door and swap out.

How hard is it to weld in a patch panel on a fender? Don't you have to make some kind of jig for it?

Okay guys now to the cenario. I looked under my carpet, and found fiberglass all over the floorpan. Is there anyway that I can still use POR15 on it? I was hoping to POR15, then Dynomat it. But now it seems that my hopes of doing that are out of the window since you have to take the floorpan down to bare metal then apply. graemlins/angry.gif

You have to have cut away the size of the repair patch with a grinder disc, then hold the patch with clamps then weld it in place then use a drimel to get the imperfections from the welding down to a minimal, then use body filler then sand it down to were its even then primer. I think atleast...

I watched my father do this on my Blazer.

I wrestled with the rear seatback on my 72 for a long time, too. Turns out that the two clips that hold the top of the seat back were a little bent. They got bent more as I wrestled with it. Try pushing in on the top of the seat back, as you pull up. Try doing one side at a time. Having someone to help might have made it easier...
