Since my entire eletrical system is probably the most botched DIY project in the nothern hemisphere, I've decided once and for all to go for a full rewire. (I'd like to kick the former owner of the car for causing such a nightmare!!!!) I have absolutely no desire to do this on my own and am going to get a professional to do it. A couple of gentlemen with my year referred me to their electricians, who are said to do excellent, honest work. Regardless, I'd still like to know beforehand what a full rewire costs on average to avoid getting ripped off. I honestly have no idea and would really appreciate it if someone could shed a little light here. Also, wouldn't it be best to find out everything I need to get, order all the parts through M&H, and have the guys install it all, rather than having them get the parts themselves? What am I going to need to get?

Geez... if you order everything you need through M&H you will already have spent a kings ransom on the project. At that point why bother paying someone else just to plug it all together?
The M&H stuff is supposed to be exact factory replacement, no engineering degrees required :-)
Now if you go with a generic hot rod harness from Painless Performance or American Autowire or somebody else, THEN you may need an expert to install it for you. In which case I have no idea what it would cost since I do all this kinda stuff myself to save $$$.

The guy I use when I don't have the time or get too lazy runs me $55.00 to $60.00 an hour. I guess there are cheaper guys but I don't know any.
With M & H and the assembly manual with pictures it's not that bad to do. Also might ask M & H for a name of a person to install their harnesses for you. They are in Santa Fe Springs.
