I want to ship a fender from CA to ND, but truck freight seems too high. I recall reading a post a long while ago about people sending body parts, like a fender, by bus. Has anyone done this recently?. What about fedex to ship a fender? I heard FedEx is cheaper than truck freight on large items like a fender. Your experiences?

I shipped the front bumper off a 4th Gen Firehawk that was 70"x35"x20" from Delaware to Texas for like $35.00. No place else would even take it except truck freight and that pricing was insane.

Go to Greyhound.com for a quote. You'll have to pack it yourself and drop it off/pick up at the nearest bus station but it defintely works for oversize items that weigh under 50 lbs.

If you need more info email me!!

Thanks,

Tony

thanks. I checked their web site and it seems the fender is under their max size, so I expect they will accept it for shipping.
The web quoted me 50 bucks from California to upper North Dakota. Great price, since truck freight was quoted to be between 100-150 for same fender. I will pursue this and post a reply if it works well, so others can use this service instead of truck, if it suits their needs.

Bhawk, that doesnt sound bad...but what you heard about Fedex is right too, since they bought out Roadway Freight Systems, their ground prices are less than UPS in almost all cases. Just call the Fedex main number, but make sure you tell them you want FEDEX Ground, not express..have the pkg weight, dimensions, and the destination zip and origin zip available. You might be surprised...and contrary to what you might have read here not long ago, Fedex has a very good record and is very reliable. :D John
