I was looking at :

I was wondering, what kind of appraisal would you give on replacing the filler panel (on a 4-door) - extracting and welding back in. I have the sheet metal; they will supply the mud and labour. I have garage prices at work and will supply my own paint. How many hours would I expect? They will have to take the glass out without breaking it smile.gif

I have the part. The fit looks good from all I have measured. (Have never been that confident about repro but this one seems ok, for a change.) It is still in the box although I have layed a skin of etch primer on it.

It had water damage at the base of the window when I got it. It is temporarily patched. Rust Flakes were falling into the trunk. I ordered the part, but have not budgeted yet for the work.

Guess-timates on how long a job this would involve.

Sevt_Chevelle - you out there? Anyone smile.gif ?

You are wanting a HOW MUCH SHOULD THEY CHARGE ME kinda thing right?

This post you link too is about the entire package tray including the speaker area, but I feel like you are just wanting to replace the outer filler panel between the glass and deck lid.
If its JUST the outer panel then a good afternoon's worth of work is needed.

To me the hardest part is getting out the backglass, if I was removing it and it broke its YOUR problem not mine.

If you did even have to remove the entire tray I still say a afternoon worth of work as the spot welds are RIGHT HERE in plain sight. Plus its easy to replace IMO, just line it back up to the seem check the fit on the glass and deck lid and start welding.

if it is JUST the filler panel I cant see more then 6hrs to replace and if the entire tray 10hrs.
But I have the tools to replace it fast and work at a faster pace cause I do this type of thing almost everyday.
But those hr times can also change on the overall condition of the rest of the car and your replacement parts.

I would make sure that your shop or whoever addresses any surface rust that they uncover.
