Purchased a pair of new dynomax ceramic coated headers over the summer and after about 300 miles of use, surface rust is already showing! Any suggestions on polish or touch up would be nice. Thanks!

If they are truly ceramic coated they should not rust, wonder what kind of coating it really is?????

I also have some dynomax ceramic coated headers that started rusting within 1 year , I used some cream mag polish forget which brand but it did clean them up

I just had my old headers ceramic coated by a local shop.
He said that I could polish them with Mothers Aluminum polish. However this didn't pertain to rust, just what was the best thing to polish them with.

I was watching HP TV and ntoiced the coated headers on Joe's Mustang had rust on where the tubes meets the collectors.
My friends son has a 68 Chevy short bed p/u with Dynomax coated headers..guess what, they have rust and he uses the truck daily.
My old 70 SS396/4 speed had these headers..they stayed fairly rust free for 5 years+..car sat in the garage and got about 3K miles a year.
Now,I just buy cheap headers and paint them

My coated hearders have some rust on them and have now started peeling because of an old oil leak. I use those steel wool, soap embeded, Brillo pads you get from a grocery store. Works great.

So far all of these ceramic coated product I have seen, will rust. Mine have, use some steel wool to clean them and then use mothers mag wheel polish to shine them. I have also heard a product called Wenol works real well with ceramic coated stuff. Ceramic coating definitly slows the rust process down, I am not sure if it eliminates it.

This process also works well if you spill some oil or etc. on them, and it gets baked on!
