I just wanted to say thank you for all of you help. I never would have been able to do this without all the reference this site supplies. Thanks again.
I do need help on my rear glass area. Where would I put drains in the channel. The glass was held in with black goo everywhere. Anywhere I would put a drain would be covered with this when its reinstalled http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif Or did the guy use too much sealer?

its a 71 malibu..I read a couple wks ago that drilling a hole then welding a tube in for water drain is the answer to the chevelles problem rusting here. If you have reasons I shouldnt do this let me know. Thanks

I thought about doing the drain thing on my 67 and I wish I did. When the window is installed correctly you will have used the little rubber blocks to hold it from sliding down to the back of the channel. To figure out where the drains go just pour a little water in there and see where it goes. Weld/braze in a little piece of flaired brake line (at least 3/16" dia). Stick a rubber hose on it and bring that down to your quarter panel drain plug behind the back wheel. Punch a hole in the drain plug, route the hose through and reinstall plug. Check them for drainage when you wash the car. If plugged gently blow air up it till it's clear. That will keep that rust from forming.
