How do you get the chrome off that is on top of the roofrail weatherstrip and how do you get the roofrail weatherstrip off?
The car is a 69 chevelle SS.
Thanks for any help

You peel the weatherstrip out of the channel. If it's old and hardened it will come out in pieces. You can start in the front, pop the little black retainers out and save them. Start peeling it up and get a gasket scraper in the weatherstripe track and scrape and pull. It will come out. With the rubber gone you will see the phillips screws that hold the channel to the car. Remove those and gently pry it loose from the body. Be sure to mark/measure/record/ or remember where the channel was postioned because there are slots for adjustment in the channel.
Good luck,
Roger

You shouldn't need them since your originals are stainless steel and can be buffed to a like new finish. I don't know where to buy replacements for them myself.

Ryan--you might want to clarify your question.

Do you mean the small, round-flat headed push pins that are sometimes used at the front starting point of the roof rail w/strip?

Or do you mean something else?

As already said, the actual stainless channel isn't repro'd to my knowledge...these are fairly common.
