should I replace this quarter panel?? There is also minor damage to the body line. Keep in mind this is my first project car, I've been starring at it for sometime now just too afraid to bite into it and mess somthing up but now i'm ready. What should I do guys?

I have a replacement skin ready but it was made in taiwan and I'm worried of running into complications that are beyond me (but i'm willing to figure it out)

Personally, I would definately save the original quarter based on your pictures. If you don't have the skills necessary to bump the majority of that back in shape then hire someone for 4-6 hours to do the hammer work then take it from there. The tiawan skins aren't very nice and you'll end up skimming 90% of it with filler anyway to get perfect. I see no major corrosion issues, Fix it. graemlins/thumbsup.gif Bob

As a "first project" I would always say save it. Take it one section at a time. For instance that area behind the wheel well with the sharpe body line over it is a perfect place to start. Just do that area and get started.

The one thing I am concerned with is the strip of bondo over the upper body line where a vinyl top moulding would go. That is the most common place to splice a quarter. I have a suspicion that your car has already had a quarter installed in the past. If that is the case, you need to look it over careful and conferm it was done well. That may be a reason to trash it, but the body damage I see there, I would save.
