Anyone know how to remove the metal strip between the windshield and the hood cowl! thanks for any help! ps is it welded in

If you are talking about the peice that has vents and the wiper motor comes through, then it is screwed in.

There are 3 screws at the front of the peice under the rubber hood seal. remove those 3 screws then pull the peive toward the front. There are 3 tabs close tothe windsheild. Once they are clear of the wholes you can lift it out.

Have to ask why you want to remove part? If it is the welded piece behind cowl grille, it extends under windshield and has windshield moulding clip studs. Under cowl grille it is welded to wiper transmission brkts. and upper rear cowl top. Under windshield it extends over top of upper firewall (air intake & wiper arm & transmission area), it is spot welded to that, and upper dash panel is spot welded to that at glass mounting area. It also extends under r&l windshield pillar caps about 1" on each side. Must remove caps to install. Must remove fenders to remove w/s caps. Replaced mine due to rust on part and upper dash area. Fairly significant project, can be done nicely if careful. Can give detailed instructions if that is the part you asked about. Karl
