Thought I would start another new thread on the gear vendors update saga.
One of my biggest drawbacks to starting this was the thought of modifying my transmission tunnel to fit the gear vendor unit in there. Well, it was really very simple and I thought I would share some pics. I had to modify them a little by brightening them up so you could see the floor, otherwise it would be too dark.
The first pic shows the unit fully installed, and you can see the seat support rail at the right side of the picture. The tunnel mods are directly above the unit to the left of that seat rail - no mods needed to the rail.
Note there's a LOT of extra room up there - that means the hour I spent pounding the tunnel up could have been made a lot shorter, but I just didn't want to have to do it twice. The closest point is at the seat rail, where I cut off the extra bolt sticking out past the nut in the picture. There's maybe 1/2" of space still there, and my engine/tranny is slightly higher in the rear than it was originally.
So, if the tunnel mods are holding anyone back, I hope this will help - it was a really REALLY simple part of the install.
2nd Pic shows the unit from the rear.
