I inherited this problem when I bought the car. The front brakes were changed over to disc. I'm not sure what the spindles are off of, but when I bought new calipers, they matched up to ones for a 1970 chevelle. Here's my problem, the car sits too high in the front and the upper control arm geometry is extreme (sitting on snubber). It appears as though the spindle is shorter than original. Since I don't have an original to compare to, I don't know. The spring itself is the proper length. Is there any easy way to fix this? Can I get a trick ball joint to raise the spindle up off the lower control arm, thus lowering the height & correcting the geometry? I know they make such a thing for some GMC vans.
If anybody else has encountered this, please let me know. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.
