How can i get this dent out. Its on the drivers side, about a little smaller than a baseball. It has no creases and i have no clue how it got there. I DO NOT want to put bondo or have to repaint. Should i just take it to a paintless dent remover? could that dry ice method work on this sheetmetal? it seams kind of thick. Thanks for any help.

Paintless dent removers willnt work on that heavy of metal and plus they would have to drill several holes on the underside to gain access to the dent. Dry ice only works on very small dents like hail and many times it doesnt work. The best way to remove that dent is use what is called a stud gun. The stud gun welds a small nail to the dent then with a slide hammer you grip the nail and pound out the dent. Once the dent is flush with the surrounding metal you just grind off the nails. Pulling out a dent and not using any mud is hard and takes time to know where to weld the nails and how much force is needed to bring it back. Basically you are going to need some mud in this case, repainting shouldnt be that big of deal just mask off the rocker and repaint only rocker...Eric

Agree with Sevt_chevelle. If you spend the $$ to secure one, be sure to experiment with trigger time needed to get stud to stay on. You are pulling out with slide hammer. excercise caution not ot burn studs in too much, or to pull entire dent with one stud. It can very easy to rip hole if burned in too deep or pulled on too long. Then you are welding up holes. Use multiple studs working out from middle circumference of dent, If round dent as described. Light tapping with hammer on outer edges of damage while applying pulling pressure can help to release dent, & prevent eyebrow effect at edge of repair. Once again practice on something else first, be sure area is free of paint & foreign material, take your time, don't try to do with one stud unless marble sized dent. Galvanized coatings, lead & other foreign materials can prevent studs from adhering. This method is for a flat surface repair, different stud process if on contour, or sharp style line. Be sure to replace corrosion protection on back side of panel to repair what may have burned off by studs. Sorry we don't have a no paint fix for damage you described. Karl
