I am getting ready to put in a front end rebuild on my '72 Malibu. I've heard good things about polyurethane bushings and I've heard good things about stock rubber. Which ones should I go with? Price not a factor. I'm looking for ride quality, etc.

Sometimes you just kill me Dennis.
But back on topic... it depends on what you are looking for and "ride quality" really does not tell us much. The rubber will be the quietest but will have more natural flex. The Poly will be more rigid but you *will* have more noise in the form of road vibration and squeaks you will have to live with.
This is strictly for the front, in the rear it is a very different picture.

Poly in front = good
Poly in rear = bad
Have you looked at Global West's "Del-A-Lum" bushings? I believe they are better.
BTW, Some recommend getting greasable bushings, NOT the polygraphite.

Why is poly bad in the rear?

Type "poly" or "polyurethane" into the search bar for this topic. I would guess over 100 recent threads discussing it.

This has been discussed several times.
Dennis68 provides most of the technical data. He's mostly concerned about road-course racing. I agree with him, but not for all of the same reasons. My biggest complaint is that ride quality suffers greatly. I've got them on my car. NEVER AGAIN! I'm pretty confident the SOLID spherical bearings will provide a smoother ride than the polys.
