The prior owner of my '70 painted the car a '71 color...Sunflower yellow that I see on the paint code reference as #52. Does anyone have a suggestion of a good source for touch up paint? I probably want both a touch up bottle and a spray bomb. Do the GM dealers still carry the stuff or is it a paint shop blend. I live in Orlando if that helps. Thanks

My local auto paint supply store does that all for me, try finding a good local one, they should be able to help you out

Thanks, I was told I should bring the car down so they can compare paint chips since it is so old and I guess there are a # of 52's. All the shops I talked to didn't have books that specifically went back to the early 70's.

I think the '71 Sunflower Yellow was unique. There was no comparison to other yellows in other years. BTW, yellow was the most popular colour in the automotive industry in 1971; for 1972 silver was the most popular colour. I suspect medium red metallic was most popular from '73 though '78, although greens were super-popular between '68 - '78. Whatever...
