I never did body work in my life and now that my permit and such is coming with weather I gotta get on ball,

Behind the seats where that wall is in 72 Elky is all rotted out, now i was thinking could i just get a tool and cut all that out and have a friend weld in a peice of sheetmetal?

Bubba,

Yes, you can do this, it takes a good sheet metal fabricator to get the contours correct, but back in HS, my buddy did the same to his 72 Elco, but it wasn't because it was rotted, he wanted to stick 4 12" subs back there. About a thousand dollars later, he had an almost extended cab elco, it was awesome. Just make sure you get the new sheet metal contoured correctly, otherwise it'll leak http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif
Good luck!
