how do you folks come up with prices for your used parts your trying to get rid of? it seems everytime I sell something it either sells real quick then I know i underpriced the item or it's still sitting in the shed and seems nobody needs/wants it for any price, I go to these swap meets and it seems like the same people with the same stuff keep showing up, unfortunatly alot of the stuff for sale is the same stuff I just throw away, and a week later I'm out buying the stuff cause I can't find the parts anywhere, and looking at EBAY keeps reminding me of what PT BARNUM said about a sucker born every minute, JIm

Actually I'm the wrong person to answer. If I want to make more money I can work overtime and I don't like overtime. Normally something neat follows me home from the junkyard and I just sell it for what it cost me. Problem is I have to remember what that price was. Most of the time my fellow TCers toss in something for a beer. Does it for me.

Jim, to tell you the truth I check to see what other people are selling the same part for and sell it for 10%to 20% less they get a good deal I sell the part and like you said you do not have to sit on it, unless it is a very rare part then I will ask clsoer to the "going rate"

actually a guy I know needs a elky rear window and AC box (under dash part) I have no Idea what to ask for it, would like to get rid of it, any ideas, I think I'll see what kind of stuff he has I perfer to trade anyway, The funny thing, all the parts he has for sale is always pricey, so I hate to just give it away, cause things never reciprocate, Jim

I used to worry about pricing to low when things sold right away. Then I raised prices and nothing sold. Now I just assume that the right person was in the right place at the right time. On your parts start high, you can always go lower. If he thinks they are too high he can look elsewhere. If he finds they are a good deal he will be back.

I've heard that the later model Elky rear windows can be pricey 'cause they are not available. Haven't checked up on what I've heard.
