I have a friend that's changing his stock spindles out for some 2" drop spindles. He says I can have his stock spindles for my drum to disk conversion. Does anyone know if his 1972 Chevelle spindles will work with my 1966 Chevelle?
Thanks

The spindles fit, but I'm not sure that the pitman arms will fit without modification. There's some info about it in this thread (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84690).

So it sounds like I'll need to modify where the pitman arm goes. As for brake hardware, will I just get parts for a '72 Chevelle.
Does anyone know if they will change any of my steering geometry?

The disc brake spindles from the '72 will bolt right on. The above posted link in the previous post is for modifying a drum brake spindle to accept disc brakes. Anything after '72 is a tall spindle conversion, and is a littlte bit more involved and not a complete bolt-on and go affair.
"Does anyone know if they will change any of my steering geometry?" Will be the same using the 72 and earlier spindles.

It is, but I was referring to the comment about the bolt size for the pitman arms. Seems like that's the only major difference between the spindles.

You reuse the actual steering arms on your car now. These steering arms unbolt from the old spindle assemblies on each side and go right back onto the new spindles. That way by not unbolting them from the tie rods - you also avoid replacing the rubber dust shields which get destroyed by removing the tie rod ends. You don't want to get into actually pulling the pitman arm off the steering box if you can avoid it. Good Luck.
