The color sanding wasn't done yet in these pics. That should be done and the car should be ready to come home tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait to see what it looks like after the color sand and buff. I've been waiting 5 years to do this. So what do you guys think?

I like that color! You made a good choice doing the disassembly and reassembly yourself, saves the shop a lot of work and headaches with detailing mouldings etc. and should save you some money also. The car looks straight from what I see in the photos.

Looks great Greg - nice color. This was done in about 4 weeks? Sure beats some of the body shop horror stories we have all heard.

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with the color. The owner of the shop wasn't so happy when he went to buy the paint. Apparently, that color is more expensive than most. I think he said it was around $600-700 for a gallon. The car has been at the shop for 6 weeks, but they didn't really start on it until 4 weeks ago. So far, I'm very happy with the quality for the price. I will reserve final judgement until after the color sanding and final buffing. I'll post an update tomorrow with the final results.

Viper Blue?
I've had 2 Viper blue cars...my 67 el-camino, and a 73 Duster. Has to be about my favorite color!

how much did you pay total? very nice color

$5K out the door for the complete paint and body work, including painting the engine bay, rollbar, and dash. I think this is more than fair considering the job done. The price actually had me worried as it seemed too low.

Does that price include any rust repair work?

Yes. There wasn't a bunch of rust, but there were a few places that had to be cut out and patched with new metal. They also used metal to eliminate the antenna hole, side markers, and a few other holes.
