Well I went to go mess with the car a little while ago. I checked to make sure the plug wires were on tight, and all seems good. I started the motor up, and it sounded good. Then after about 30secs or so, the idle started dropping, so I raised it back up, then the carb back fired and it turned off. I turned the air/fuel bleeds out 1 1/2 turns, I had it at 1 full turn out. I didn't notice any difference. Well, I turned it on again, raised the idle to roughly 1100rpms and it stayed on. I got in the car and revved it, then the idle dropped to about 500rpms. I revved it again and the idle went back up. After that the idle kept dropping and I have to keep giving it gas so it wouldn't turn off.

I was thinking that maybe I've got too much fuel going to the carb, but I couldn't read my fuel pressure gauge because it was bouncing between 7 and 8psi. What's up with that??? I looked into the carb, and it looked like the passenger side of the fuel bowl was dropping more gas then the driver's side. The "sucking" noise of the carb seemed louder then usual, if that has anything to do with it. The only thing I changed on the carb was the jets....went to 68s from the original 72s.

Also, one thing I did notice is when I have the key in the "accessory" position and move some wires from the MSD box, I hear some kinda squeeking/screeching noise coming from the starter. What does that mean? The wires I'm moving are the one that connect to the distributor, (on the same side of the box that the tach input is).

Well, what do you guys think?

You could have a vacuum leak. Have you tried searching for a leak? Make sure all the holes are plugged and that carb is on tight.

Ok............I believe I got things figured out. With the help of Mike, (Wolfplace......Thanks a lot!!!!), I adjusted/lowered my fuel pressure down to just under 7psi. Then I readjusted my front float, (only thing is that I forgot to adjust the rear :clonk:). After some "trial and error", I got the float adjusted and things were looking and sounding GREAT!!! My idle, since I was raising it earlier in the day to keep the motor from turning off, was pretty high. It was idleing(sp?) at 1500rpms and BOY did that sucker rev good!!!
Things were looking good, so the next thing I did was drop my idle to right around 900rpms or so. After I did that, the motor started to want to die again  It got to the point were it didn't want to start again, just crank over. Well after about an hour and a half or so of looking thru wires, re-electrical taping some here and there, I came across the "hot" wire that comes out of the MSD, (the one that connects to the starter). Well after playing around/moving other wires with no luck, that "hot" wire was the last one I touched, and after that, the car started turning on again....so I believe I may have found my culprit! I didn't rewire it yet or anything, just left it alone. I figured, I've done enough for the day, and wanted to end it on a "high" note :D ;) :D
