I got me new fenderwell guards and wasnt sure how they are installed from the factory. My other chevelle has them installed from the inside tire area of the fenderwells and riveted. Im not sure if this was the work of another owner. The kit came with staples and its a metal fender on the passenger side. The driver side has a plastic fenderwell and theres a guard on it and its connected on the engine compartment part of the fenderwell.

The original ones on my 69 were installed from the engine side.

mine was engine side with staples. wow what a pain for that job. storm

I just put it on engine side and used rivots. Looks nice. Dont really like the rubber that splash guards are made of. Scratches real easy
