I'm about to redo my car and presently have R&M paint on the car. The shop doing the new paint also uses R&M paints. Does anyone have any experience/comments regarding this brand. Any suggestions as to something better?
TIA

Bob, If you mean R-M, or Diamont, it's made by BASF. That's what is on my car. No problems so far (2 yr). All the painters I've spoke to speak highly of it.

Bob, my car was done with a BASF paint called Glasurit (sp?) and is Fantastic. I'd highly recommend it.

I guess it's R-M. Put it on the car about 5 years ago but I'm gonna make a color change. I can handle redoing it but Don't know if I could handle painting it 3 times. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Bob, My car is painted with Diamont paint no problems here either. But I have heard nothing bad about DuPont or PPG, as long as you use the higher end of their product line.
My .02 is let the shop use the brand they are comfortable with spraying and ask for the higher end line of whatever brand they use especially the clear coat.
Can you say Monaco Orange without smiling? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Jeff is right. Let the shop spray what they use. Get the best paint system you can though. bc/cc urethane all thw way.
When I paint cars I put on extra clear just to buff out a few years later with out worrys of buffing through anything. Plus it looks deeper also.
I've never used R-M, but It's been around for quit awhile.
I spray PPG and Sherwin Williams for now on. Use to use Dupont 7800 series but it's too damn hard to buff out.
