I have a 67 with Maroon painted over the original Blue, I thought about media blasting but I would really like to sand it down myself. I have a Dewalt 6 inch DA sander but I have seen in the forums this is not the best to use. I want a electric cause I don't think my air compressor will handle it.
I just want to get down to the original Marina Blue so I can get it repainted.
Thanks in advance.

I have just ONE question. Why do THAT yourself??
I dont know about the rates in your area but Ive gotten a few to media blast my ENTIRE 70, both in the 600 dollar range.
Its hard work, it takes forever, 600 hundred bucks is CHEAP

I’ve checked and I could get it media blasted and a good primer for $900, guess it’s going to cut into the Harley budget but I got to get it back running for Cruisin' The Coast

I'm with sevt, if you start adding all the costs and materials your cheaper sending it out. On a good day with car ready to sand to bare metal $150 in paper plus primers and all the little spots you miss. Send it out first and just bite the bullet, you will be happier and healthier for not sanding.
