Hey guys what pulleys are you using for your cs130's. will the underdrive deep factory pulley work? Should i use a small size normal pulley? is the shaft size the same as older style alt's. Ralph

You can use the pulley from your old alternator on the CS130. I use an impact wrench to remove and reinstall the nut but you can use an allen wrench and a box end wrench. When reassembling be sure to use the necessary spacers to end up with solid metal to solid metal at the shaft. Here's (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/tempalt11.JPG) pics of a CS144 the CS130 pulleys will be the same.

I removed this CS144 alternator from an 85 Cadillac in a U-Pull-It there was many to choose from, I picked one that looked new. Cost was $20. It's been in use on my ElCamino for over two years.

So a large diameter deep groove pulley that they say is for a camaro will work, will the larger diameter help/ hurt or make no diff.? Thanks Ralph

The larger diameter will reduce the alternator rpm thus the output at lower engine speeds. If you’re running electric fans and find yourself in stop–n-go traffic it could be a problem.
