What type of seam sealer is used in the rain gutters on a 69 chevelle. Do i apply it prior to primer or prior to paint?

Put on some good metal primer, epoxy IMO. Then use 3M Ultrapro URETHANE seamsealer. I usually tape the area with masking tape to keep it confined to the gutter, apply a nice bead, then tool it with my finger untill the shape is right, then remove the tape and tool it one more time to remove the tape line. A little wax and grease remover can help keep the surface wet while tooling. Bob
