I got a gas tank out of a 70 parts car for my 70 chevelle, the tank only has 1 line out of it, do I need to use a vented cap? the car has 2 lines in the frame could I just use the fuel line and leave the other uncapped since there is no where to hook it up to the tank? thanks any input is appreciated Jim

Is the difference in the TANK or in the SENDING UNIT?

If it's the sending unit, swap with your existing one, and then connect with fresh hoses.

Yes. If you use this tank with only one line, you must use a vented cap. I have the same set-up in my 71

thanks for the reply, the sending unit only has one line and there are no vents on the tank, my other sending unit is off a 72 and I need to go look at it, thanks again Jim

Jim, is the other end of your 2nd line still hooked up to the fuel pump? If so, look into getting a single line pump as well.

thank terry, I put a big block in the car and made sure I got one with a single input and output, the only issue I have there is the line in the frame is 5/16 and the fuel pump is 3/8 the motor is a mild 454 so I hope the fuel line is going to be big enough, the line out of the sending unit is 3/8 if I need to I can swap lines later, Jim
