Since this is by far the best site on the net, I was wondering if someone could help! Will the wheel well trim from a 67 GTO fit on a 67 Chevelle?

Thanks
Dallas Vick

I posted the question because I knew someone who was going to sell the trim from his 67 GTO. I finally waited long enought and he let me have them.

To let everyone know, they fit like a glove. Just wanted to share the info because someone else might have had the same question.

Thanks

I had recently purchased a set of 1967 GTO Wheel Well Stainless Mouldings for my 1967 Chevelle SS from Tamraz Parts based on the above posting. Upon receiving these 1967 GTO mouldings, I had discovered that they were 4" longer on each Wheel Well of my 1967 Chevelle and I would not attempt to bend them. These GTO Mouldings are designed for a much longer and rounder GTO wheel openings versus the smaller and squarer Chevelle openings. I recommend that Team Chevelle Members do NOT purchase the 1967 GTO Stainless Moulding because you would be wasting your time and money for these mouldings which will never fit a 1967 Chevelle without major bending and cutting. The best bet would be to buy the Aluminum 1967 Chevelle Mouldings.

If I may also add that when you replace your Wheel Well Moldings, UNLESS you are building a concourse resto, looking for mucho points, use stainless steel pan head Phillips head screws. The ones supplied with the aftermarket replacement moldings as well as nos screw head slots are very soft.

I dont know about the trim, but I just used 67 GTO quarter panels on my 67 Chevelle. Fit like a glove. :)
OJ's glove fit too, didnt it?
Just kidding! Why would you believe that the wheel trim would fit ? The original poster had to be bs'ing us here. They haven't made a post since Jan, '03. Long gone...
