Trying to do correct resto on 66SS my car had dark grey/ white spatter trunk ( over spray still visible on body color trunk hinges and torsion rods... but trunk has been sprayed flat black sometime over the years
What I need to know is ...does the spatter only go on the trunk floor ?? I owned this car 35 years ago and think i remember that the inside quarter panels where either black or body color and the back panel where the trunk latch was not spatter ....any 66 or 67 resto I have seen in my area has a perfectly covered spatter trunk I don't think that correct
Pls set me straight on this
Also still searching for the correct color of power brake booster and master cyl cap and Alt fan on a 66 .....again I am sure it was never the popular gold cad plating we see now on most resto's
Am I wrong ??

The trunk was sprayed pretty much the whole floor, quarters up to the trunk hinge half way up on the wheel well. About half to 3/4 of the rear seat area. The rear panel where the latch is was only semi covered, some more than others. Alternator pulley and fan are 1 piece on low horse cars and are either dipped black or phos. Silver cad or zinc in color for the HP cars. Gold booster and MC lid

Can someone please clarify how much of the quarters are covered in spatter paint? Also, what should the color be if not spatter paint? Should it be body color or black? Should the latch bracket and hinge brackets be body color? Lastly, where the two colors masked off, or simply sprayed over?
Thanks

My experience with this stuff is that it varied by car. Most of this stuff was done by hand. If the guy on the line felt really energetic that day, he may have gone all the way up the quarter panel.
You are not going to get dinged on this kind of stuff.
