2 Questions;
1. how do I know if I need to replace me front coil springs? they look fine, and they are the same height when I measure them.
2. they measure 18 inches long, how much would I cut off for a 2" drop?
Thanks for your help,
Herb

Why not buy the right springs for the drop/ They aren't that expensive.

If your car feels like you are driving a big waterbed down the road, chances are new springs will help.
I agree with Herb. I ordered 1/2 inch front drop custom springs from Coilsprings.com They were very nice.

Hoovestol has it right.
For more choices than you thought were possible see: http://www.classiccarsprings.com/springrates.html
I believe they are all Moog spring numbers.
My '65's front springs are stamped C03P6200 on the upper tail, just use the last 4 digits for the chart.
Cutting springs should be a last ditch no money option - there are too many good spring choices that will not sacrifice ride quality like cutting a spring will do.
