From my reading, I'm getting the impression that 70 SS cars did NOT have the front bumper guards (the two vertical pieces) on them -- is that correct? My wife's 70 SS has them on there, but lots of things on the car have been replaced by others before it came to us, so we're thinking maybe they took a bumper from something else.

So -- anyone know for sure on that? If they were NOT on there, were the bumpers otherwise the same (even with the holes for the guards, but not used) -- or was it actually a different bumper without the holes? Any other differences there?

I was wondering about this as well, as I saw an ad for a SS with build sheet for sale with bumper guards, I emailed the seller and asked for a scan of the build sheet... we'll see if i get it. Im hopeing to see if there was an option to put them on with the SS

Front bumper guard are option V31. Rear bumper guards weren't available on the SS because of the bumper pad.

My 70 SS was originally built with front guards.

Ah! Thanks for the info! Guess I should have checked OUR build sheet first -- found it on there ("V31 F BUMPER GUARD").
