I want to undercoat the frame, rearend and floorpans. Its all painted undernieth.I want undercoating for the sound deading and protection. I want to drive my velle and not worry about the undercarriage getting chipped paint. This is however a fairly high dollar car. These are the two products i have found that can be applied over painted surfaces."3M no clean up,body schultz undercoat #08964" and "Eastwoods rubberized undercoat #16008" I dont want the $3 dollar stuff. any personal feedback or thoughts would help. any other product info, welcome. thanks graemlins/thumbsup.gif

If the 3M stuff is what I'm thinking of, than it is significantly different than a ruberized undercoating. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the shultz is used alot of times on the rockers, especially on trucks, and then painted over, leaving you with a orange peel type look and giving some give under the paint. The product itself is a yellow color. As far as the ruberized product, I've seen too many instances where it just traps moisture and causes more problems than it prevents. If it's a fair weather car, then that might not be much of an issue.

I did the underside of the fenders on a 36 Ford streetrod 14 years and 18,000 miles ago and it still looks great.

Thanks for the info Bob.
That looks like a nice product. Do you recommend use just for sound deadening and rust protection or the entire undercarriage? Thanks Mark

I used the POR-15, I don't think it gets any better than POR. It also prevent rust from returning. Just my .02
