I've always heard that 68 Chevelles are supposed to be a one year, one model only. However, some sellers seem to be aware of this but still offer other 1968 'A' body cars (GTO's, 442's and Skylarks) as usable donors. What's the definitive answer? Must the 68 tilt column come from only a Chevelle? Or are other 1968 'A' bodies usuable? I'm talking about a direct bolt-in with no modifications.

1968 Chevelle is one year, CHEVELLE ONLY! The bowl (the part where the column mates up with the dash) is different on other A-body columns.

There's an easy way to tell if its the right one on Ebay, if its going for about $200, its not a Chevelle column, if its going for at least $350+, its the right one!

Here's the correct style.

Here's the wrong one.

See the difference?

Anyway, I was told that other A-bodies wouldn't work, but maybe with some "massaging" around the plastic dash piece, it "might" work.
