Hi;
I just removed the motor mounts from my 396 and coolant drained out of the bottom hole on the passenger side motor mount hole. It didnt leak at all while in the car. Has this happened to anyone else? Is the block okay?..........Thanx in advance.................Bernie

Sounds like someone put too long of a bolt in at one time, or ran a tap in too deep. I think you can just use RTV on the bold when reinstalling the mount. Head bolts require similar sealer to keep water out of the oil.

I just got a 3/8 16 allen head 1/4 inch plug from work and measured the depth of the bolt hole and how far the bolt will go in with the motor mount installed. I have room to install the plug with thread sealer {carefully measuring with calipers} and still install the motor mount bolt normally. I could just use thread sealer but i would rather plug and seal it. Thanx for the advice............I freaked when it first happened .......................Bernie396
