: trans break-in?

friend of mine was saying I need to "break-in" the th350 I just had rebuilt with a TCI master kit. do I have to? and what does 'breaking-in" consist of??

I was always told you "slap it together and can go racing!"

I prefer to take it a little easier than that, as would the average person, I think. Especially if there are new bearings involved, you have to let them "polish in" a bit.

More critical is to make sure the fluid has made its way fully thru the trans into every circuit and that the level is topped off and the TV cable set for vehicles that have them. Run it through all the gears several times to make sure everything works and you are on your way.

I like to put a few miles on it before I pound on it too much (usually VERY few...:sad: )
