Did they put reg. numbers on the frame in the 70's? If so were do you look? Thanks for all the help. Lloyd.

i have a 70 SS and when i sandblasted my frame i found the vin #. its located on drivers side behind rearend,app midway to back bumper. thats where it is on my 70. good luck

If by reg. number your mean the VIN, Yes. It's on the frame rail on the top of the rail just in front of the passenger side rear wheel. You can see it with a small mirror with the body on.

I've had tons of these apart and I have never found the vin on any of them

is it possible that all the plants did not put the vin numbers on the frames
being that I am close to baltimore and probably most the cars around here came from there could it be possible that baltimore did not do this

They are hard to see and impossible on some cars I think.

One Atlanta built 70 I had was on top of the drivers side frame behind rearend like michael n said but I can't find any numbers anywhere on the frame of the one I have apart right now.
