HOTRODSRJ Apr 7th, 05, 6:15 AM If you are referring to a HEI having issues with the factory tach, it depends on the HEI that you are putting in. It's the module that provides the correct output to the tach and some of the modules will cause erratic readings. I would suggest the Accel, Echlin or AC Delco modules. The tach filter, found on most 70s and all 80s Camaros also found on 80s Monte Carlos, is primarily used to filter out radio noise.
