: Another coil spring question, please

My car is a 70 SS and has a noticeable sag on the drivers side from the back.
This seems to be a common area for this to happen. Anyway, I finally decided to re-seat the front coils so that the end of the spring is between the 2 holes in the lower control arm pocket. Unfortunately, the car still sits higher on the passenger side front and lower on the drivers side rear. I have also made sure the rear coils are properly seated and oriented the same, but it made no difference.
What do you recommend as a next step to fix this?

Thanks

How old are the springs? They have probably simply "lost" some of thier height. I would suuggest replacing them or shimming the offending front spring.

Thanks Dennis...the springs are fairly new, so maybe a shim might do the trick.
Where can I find proper shims for the springs?

Jeff,
Are you "seeing" the car sitting uneven looking at the body or did you take measurements from the underside of the frame rails? A few things come to mind to me.....the car was hit and the frame is out of rack (Twisted) or the springs got mixed up (check their uninstalled height) or they are diffferent spring rates (a supplier mix-up) or the body bushings are worn or missing from one side of the car.....or the bumpers are mounted uneven. Check these things out and rule them out before going to the shims. Also check for a cracked frame rail anywhere along the entire frame.

I did not know if there was a height difference in the left and right springs. I haven't had both of them out at the same time to tell. I will have to take some frame measurements and see if it is level. The body bushings may very well be the culprit...they are original to the car.
Thanks for suggestions....looks like I have some things to check.

Jeff, shims are available from most circle track suppliers should it be determined that you need them.
