got into a discussin this weekend over the difference of the 70 and the 71-72 fenders,I thought the 71-2 fenders could be used as a 70 fender if you cut the turn indicator hole out, and that the 70 fender extension would still bolt on, the guy I talked to said he had to buy a repop 70 elcamino fender and the turn ind. holes were just flush cut, but on the oem fender the hole actually has a lip pressed in it, any input? thanks Jim

So, your question is;
Is there a difference in the side marker light holes between a reproduction and an original 70 El Camino fender?
Correct ?
:confused:

actually I was wondering if I could use 71-2 fenders when changing front end to a 70, I've got a 70 chevelle and a 72 clip on it, I talked to a guy who may be able to come up with a 70 4 door parts car, he's not sure of the condition of the fenders, I figured if they're rusty, could I use my 72 fenders? I made a 70 coupe fender out of a 71-72 coupe fender one time.
I cut off the lower portion and welded on the same lower section with the marker light from a 70 fender.
I had to BUTCHER out behind the headlight but once the 70 extension was on it didn't show.
You have a coupe or an EL Camino?
I guess you already know coupe, sedan fenders are different than El Camino/Station wagon fenders.
