If it has a automatic transmission unbolt the torque converter from the fly wheel.taking the converter out w/ the engine will put it in a bind.

The obove will work only if you are trying to pull the engine out first then the trans.

If you are trying to take out engine and trans together, unbolt motor mts. trans mt. from crossmember, and remove driveshaft

To pull the engine and tranny as one piece you will need to pull the trans mount and radiator. I'd also pull the distributor to keep it from getting beat up on the firewall. The motor mounts can be a tight squeeze coming out and going in especially if they are getting torqued instead of the engine being lifted straight up without the trans attached. Also try squirting some WD40 at the front and back of the mounts to loosen things up. Goodluck.

I always raise my stick car's motor up some AND then give it a GOOD hard shake foreward AND the tranny pop's right out! Just be sure and undo the clutch pedal return spring b/c I forgot to and stretched it at least 18"!!

I have had to pop them apart using a long crowbar when I break them apart at the bellhousing too.

GENTLY tho b/c of the motor/b/h studs and the tranny input shaft coming out of the pilot bushing and clutch disc sorta thing.......

Take the tranny's crossmember out.
