Well, it just keeps getting better. Everything I do with this frame to get it ready for gavanizing and re-assembly seems to lead to other problems. We tore it down this weekend and found the front UCA shaft bolts welded into the frame by the PO. He even used a big rod on a stick welder to make sure they were in there good and solid.
Oh well, it's the little things that make this hobby so much fun, right?

I guess somebody was worried about a bolt coming loose. He mustn't have had a torque wrench handy, so he grabbed the arc welder instead!

May not have been the owner Herb, when I was working in front-end shops it wasn't unheard of to tack those in if they spun during an alignment. Was the car ever in the bay area...if so sorry.
ah ha, now I understand. Well, these are welded in plenty good. Somebody must have used a 1/4 inch rod.
So they'll get galvanized along with the rest of the frame. Then I'll have to clean the threads. According to the galvanizer, that won't be aproblem. He said just take a butane torch and warm them up (not too much) and then hit em with a wire wheel. Then chase them. Zinc should come off, np.
