First points race, ready or not...new bests again, 60ft times for the most part were dead on. I just need some more track time... Before the next race I will add the hyfire6 w/rev limiter which shouldnt help e.t.s at all, since I have no ignition problems.
1st time run:
1.517
4.513
7.09
94.78
9.336
107.89-all 1000 ft times
2nd time run:
1.535
4.525
7.084
95.56
9.321
108.38-2nd pass is most usually quicker than the first, unless I spin
3+ hr wait for first round, qualifying heads up cars-dial the 9.32
.513/.571 treed him
1.516
4.50
7.059
95.70
9.294
107.89-had a fender on him,scrubbed a little mph,but broke out
another 2 hr wait, qualify heads up cars and I play the game-dial 9.29
.578/.602 treed them again, its all that matters
1.518
4.494
7.039
96.22
9.267
106.84- caught easily, fendered him all the way down, let off and broke out again.
I had my best 60ft times...figured that with heads up cars. I had removed the thermostat, cut out the center and put it back in the car and the car would build no heat, good, bad, it might have played with consistency. I also ran straight 110 and put the timing back at 37-38* total, which seemed to help 60ft times, I did not pull any timing out as I hate to touch the car on race day. I think the long delays between time runs and eliminations may have played the bigger part as it cooled rapidly, and with a new motor 21 passes now, I didnt have any idea which way it was gonna go. The old motor would drop thru the evening to a certain point then start slowing down again. This one seemed to like the cold air. The only thing I did that I would call tuning while at the track was remove the 4" K&N filter with a K&N top between time run 1 and 2 and although my 60ft time slipped,it only picked up .015, I doubt its worth getting dirt in the motor and probably more related to getting all the fluids warmed up.
