dennis,
i have been reading your threads with great interest. i purchased the BMR rear suspension with adjustable uppers and it seems as if it was a mistake. is there any way to slavage these pieces? i'm wondering what you would use to hook up a noseheavy chevelle. i have only installed the lowers and my upper bushings are wasted. the car runs MT et street tires. whats your opinion on the front suspension for a drag car? i know that jim hand who runs a pontiac wagon believes in running front and rear sway bars even on a drag car and especially on a street/strip car. i'm very curious as to what your opinion is. thank you mike

The basic principles are the same for all applications. It doesn't matter whether you are drag racing, running at the local SCCA track or just putting around town, you never want your suspension to bind. Getting all the links to move freely and without deflection is key, once you have accomplished that you can start building toward your intended purpose.

In a drag car you want medium rear springs, very light front springs, 90/10 front shocks with 50/50 rear shocks. You can real crazy and look into relocating the rear uper control arm down a little to increase anti-squat. Rear sta-bars help with launch, disconnecting (AT THE TRACK ONLY) the front bar will help. Check out Wolfe Race Craft (http://www.wolferacecraft.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=28) , those guys are really into straight line stuff. I don't do the 1/4 mile thing but do use some of his components because he knows how to free up the rera suspension.
