3M makes an eraser wheel that goes in a drill, careful because it will burn into lacquer.
Try a heat gun and peel it off.
Try oven cleaner, might soften paint???
Very steady hand and a razorblade.
The glue can be removed with degreaser. Mike

A heat gun/hair dryer is your best bet. Work the gun just enough to soften the glue otherwise you will melt the pinstripe.
The ersaer wheels will make short work that lacquer paint and enamel for that fact.
Hell it will ruin fresh baseclear too but not that I would know smile.gif
3M makes an adhesion remover called general purpose adhesion remover, dont know the part number, but comes in a red and white qt metal can. That too removes pinstripes but dont know if it will harm lacquer...Eric

I used the 3M product on a red 87 Chevy truck. Stripes were white. When all was done. I ended up with red stripes with faded paint, Nice red stripes though. The 3 M worked. ok Alot of elbow work.

thanks for all the suggestions guys.its the original pinstriping and has really deteriorated over 31 years.i'm gonna just see what a razor scraper and a careful hand will do.if i can get most of the stripe off i can probably get the residue off with the 3m stuff.thanks again!
