This might seem obvious to some, but this might help if you have to apply filler to a concave area. I was having a heck of a time applying filler to the area where the roof pillar joins with the passenger side quarter panel on my 67 Chevelle. After struggling a while, I decided to cut a spreader to fit the curve. I used a piece of manila folder first for a pattern. Once I got the correct curve by matching it with the same area on the drivers side fender I traced the shape on the spreader and cut it out with scissors. With a little care you can get it perfect. This will allow you to pull your filler along the "trough" instead of down one side and up the next. The filler will go down just right using this as an applicator!
